Shoreride
Brand Identity & Product Branding

Shoreride is a product designed to make it easier to transport paddleboards and kayaks to the water, offering a simple alternative to travelling by car.

The device is compact, lightweight, and attaches to the back of a bicycle, allowing users to move their equipment efficiently and access the water in a more sustainable and convenient way.

Developed from a passion for the outdoors, the product aims to make water-based activities more accessible for people living near the coast, rivers, and lakes.

Brand Identity Concept

The brand identity was developed to reflect not just the function of the product, but the experience of being in and around water.

Early conversations with the founder highlighted a deeper focus on wellbeing, connection to nature, and the calming, restorative qualities of time spent outdoors. The identity responds to this by balancing practicality with a more emotive and atmospheric visual language.

At the centre of the identity is a symbol inspired by a sunrise over still water, representing calmness, clarity, and a sense of routine connection with the natural environment.

Visual Identity Application

The symbol functions both as a standalone mark and as part of the wider typographic system, where it can be integrated into headline compositions, including replacing the “O” within the wordmark.

This creates a flexible and recognisable identity that can adapt across branding, product application, and communications.

Colour Palette

The colour palette introduces a more vibrant and energetic tone, positioning the brand within the outdoor and watersports sector. This contrast allows the identity to remain distinctive while still conveying the calm and considered nature of the product.

Outcome

The result is a brand identity for a product-led startup, combining a clear functional proposition with a visual language that reflects the emotional and environmental aspects of water-based activity.
