About the project
The Football & Place Summit is a one-day conference bringing together club executives, place leaders and the investor community. It explores how football clubs, local and national government and key partners can work together to make football an anchor for place-based regeneration in post-industrial towns and cities across the UK. Across the footballing pyramid, a club’s built infrastructure, badge, marketing and matchday footprint are becoming part of economic strategy, civic identity and inward investment. The summit puts place at the centre of that conversation, treating it as part of a club’s strategy rather than an afterthought. The identity needed to speak to people working in place and regeneration as well as those in the football sector.

Deliverables
The design starts with the shape of a football stadium. Its outer forms are abstracted into curves and geometric fragments that suggest place-based diagrams, connecting the football setting with the wider idea of place. A deep teal grounds the identity, while an energetic magenta adds flair and vibrancy. This balance reflects the conference’s two audiences: place-based professionals and people working in football. The stadium-derived graphics and bold typography carry across the conference stage, billboard campaign and website, giving the summit a consistent presence in print, in person and online.
